Turret rewinder for narrow WEB labels Errepi Leonardo

Italian company Errepi has long term experience in production of machines for narrow WEB labels. The company's production program includes flexo machines, rotary die-cutters, turret-type rewinders, rewinding and inspection machines. 

Rewinding WEB printed labels into small diameter rolls is not an easy task. The process of rewinding takes only a few seconds, but loading of the cores, fixing the material, gluing (closing) the roll, discharging of the finished product requires considerable efforts and takes a lot of time. For such kind of jobs Errepi has developed an automatic turret rewinder. This model is an ideal machine for rewinding self-adhesive label stock and paper or film rolls, providing high automation, productivity and ease of use with high quality finished rolls.

Description of Errepi Leonardo narrow WEB rewinder

The machine can use rewind cores diameter from 20 to 76 mm, maximum finished roll diameter up to 350 mm. Machine available in three models for material widths 380 mm, 450 mm and 530 mm.

Leonardo has two possibilities for closing the rolls:

• with so-called "hidden" glue, which does not leave traces in the material
• without glue, patented system that does not use glue

Roll closure with labels, either blank or with variable data, is standard in the "non-glue" model, can also be provided on the "glue" model.

Loading the cores on the rewinding shaft, starting of winding of a new roll, finishing of rewinding, closing the roll, unloading the finished roll - all operations are performed automatically. Due to the turret design with 4 rewinding shafts, the exchange of the rewound rolls performed automatically without reducing the productivity of the machine.

Rewinding is electronically controlled by brushless motors, which ensures high accuracy of material tension and movement, as well as the desired tension control capabilities.

Leonardo is equipped with a touch panel that allows easy set-up of machine parameters using a convenient interface. Changing jobs can be made from the operator panel, reconfiguration is quick and simple (5 minutes!), the only necessary mechanical adjustment is the replacement of shafts.

The machine can be equipped with manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic loader for different types of cores.

For inline operation the rewinder can be connected to following narrow WEB machines with help of speed synchronization system:

• narrow-roll flexo press
• rotary die-cutter
• unwinder

When installed inline with the Errepi Dante rotary die-cutter, the Errepi Leonardo rewinder forms a ready-made solution for production of self-adhesive thermal label rolls, including rolls on plastic cores of various diameters.
